BACK

Ann-Sofie Back grew up just outside of Stockholm and studied at Beckman's College of Design, before taking the big step we all did...she moved to London! There she began her studies on the highly regarded MA Fashion Design course at Central St Martins.

Back started her first Label Ann-Sofie Back in 2001 and after 4 years launched the diffusion line BACK. This was to appeal to a younger customer with a more accessible price point. The line is more wearable and less conceptual, but still evokes the qualities portrayed in her mainline collection.

Ann-Sofie now shows in London, after 4 seasons at Paris Fashion Week. Back is also Joint Creative Director at Cheap Monday and has designed Collections for High Street giant Topshop.

Ann-Sofie Back, has become one of my favourite designers in recent years, becoming obsessed with watching her shows come LFW. Now showing at Stockholm Fashion Week in addition, I love her diffusion line BACK, just as much.

BACK offered a sporty feel with oversized jumpers and baggy trousers. Metallic Foils and Leather was mixed with knitted football Scarves and layering's of Checks. A Clash of concepts and somewhat jumbled, it always seems to make sense in the end. Doing what she does best Back showed us it isn't only her mainline which pushes the boundaries.

Stockholm February 2013

So over the past few days we have seen some great shows coming out of Stockholm Fashion Week.

Stockholm is one of my favourite Cities and I adore the fashion week there even more. There is something quite edgy about the whole event. It is obviously smaller than the main events in NY, Paris and London, but this also has its benefits. I love that we are seeing some High Street Brands and the amazing H&M Design Award as well as designers like Carin Wester, Whyred & Ann-Sofie BACK....

Cheap Monday held it's Fall 2013 Show at a School's Gymnasium in the Centre of Stockholm. They absolutely killed it with their wearable collection of layering, denim and lace. Red Headed Boys and Girls were sent down the catwalk with neon yellow lace and shoes to put a spin on the SS13 Grunge Trend, which we see continuing through to the Autumn Season.
