Wish List

Top- ASOS / Trousers- Zara / Jacket- Topshop / Shoes- River Island / Bag- Zara / Skirt- Topshop

I haven’t done a Wish List in a while and with payday approaching I thought I’d share with you the items I NEED to add to my wardrobe.

So ASOS have released this rather lovely high neck top in a beautiful pastel blue shade. Perfect for jeans or teamed with these fab pu trousers from Zara. The top is also available in black and white too. The jacket is sent from heaven aka Topshop. Soft buttery leather in a powder pink shade...how could one resist? The skirt from Topshop is also ab fab- textured and the perfect length for a shorty like me. Accessories I’m craving this month come in the form of these river island sandals. An update to their ‘barely there’ collection these come with a block heel- something I’m loving for both look and wearability this season. Finally we have this amazing structured satchel from Zara, very similar to so many designer ones, but without the hefty price tag, Winner!

All in all some reasonably fabulous pieces on the Wish List this month for me. I’m hoping I’ll have my hands on all of them sooner rather than later!

I Pugging Love You.

So, it is a few days till supposedly the most romantic day of the year and the question is are you ready? No, me either... my attitude to Valentine’s is somewhat similar to Scrooge’s feelings about Christmas. Generally I think it’s far too over the top and rather cringe if I’m honest. I do in fact have someone I love very much, however I don't feel the need to go over the top with teddies and chocolates shaped like hearts to prove so.

This year, however with a new year’s resolution to be more positive I’ve decided to embrace the love and I will in fact be getting my other half a little present.  Baring in mind my usual (old) opinion of this day the presents I’ve been looking at are more on the quirky side. I’ve put together a small group of gift ideas of the type of things I’d give so let me know your thought's!

1. Diptyque Noisetier candle- in general all Diptyque products are fabulous, but the candles in particular blow me away. The scent is strong enough for the room to smell without being overpowering, although with a price tag of £40 for standard size they don’t come cheap. However, if you want a candle that is extra special Diptyque are well worth the investment.

2. Notonthehighstreet Phone Case- A cute rubber IPhone case with the words I pugging love you. Ok I don’t need to say anything else about this one.

3. Urban Outfitters You’re so Awesome book- This is amazing! On each page there is various sentences which you can fill out about someone and give them as a gift. How cute? Show someone why they’re so awesome to you!

4. Urban Outfitters Heart Frame- This would go perfectly in my room, in a vintage paint effect it’s the perfect frame for a picture of you and your loved one.

5. Notonthehighstreet Illustration- One of the reasons I love this website is because of the personalisation you can add to gifts and what cuter way than initials of you and your lover in a rather contemporary illustration? This would go perfect in my kitchen...

6. Notonthehighstreet I Love Your Face Mug-I’m an avid tea drinker and so is Benjamin. A rather perfect gift no? I thought so.

So there you have it, A few ideas that doesn’t involve roses, chocolate or teddy bears. I hope you like them...let me know what you’re planning on getting for someone this valentines, is it your thing or are you still dubious like me?

Fancy Footwork

WAHEY! It's weekend and what better way to spend my morning than browsing the internet for my favourite item of clothing. Shoes, shoes and more shoes. Today my interest has been focused on Zara. Their new collection is uh-mazing. I literally want nearly every single piece, which is obviously great news for my bank balance.

Beginning with boots...now I know it is technically going to get warmer so buying MORE boots shouldn't be on my mind, however how can one resist? These double buckle cut out beauties in high shine pu are right up my street and frankly for £59.00 who wouldn't want them? The wrapped buckle shoeboot on the other hand is a great transitional piece which can be worn with both tights & bare legs. Reason to buy?...I think so too.

Moving onto some amazing court sandals in powder blue and pastel pink..admittedly I wouldn't wear them everyday, but they're the perfect shoe to add a little jazz to a simple black ensemble. The white block heel court is one of my favourite shoes I've seen for ages...the heel is bang on trend and it's in optic white. enough said?

Then we have some rather lovely sandals in cobalt blue. These are an update on the ones Zara had last season, which I missed out on (sad face) and with the addition of a metal plate they are given a little edge. At a price of £29.99 and in black too, i'll definitely be adding these to my wardrobe this season.

The loafers are beautiful, so easy to wear, but with a comfortable and sensible heel height which is always great for a commute or for work. The other flats are in the form of a cleated sole sandal in metallic silver. This sandal is going to be huge this summer and the double sole adds height which is something I LOVE, being on the small side.

All in all I think you'll agree Zara has done a rather fabulous job on the shoe front this season. Is there anywhere else I should be looking or do you agree that Zara is looking mighty fine? I'd love to know!

Brand Watch | Wood Wood

 photo WOODWOOD_zpse731eca8.jpg

Bomber £303 / Pleated Trousers £165 / Zip Metallic Purse £ 57 / W Contrast Jumper £134 / Stripe Jersey Top £62 /
Silk Wrap Longline Cat £125 / Collared Jacket £100

Scandinavian design is quickly becoming one of my favourites. The simplicity in the look but with dynamic cuts and detailing its something that works well as a staple piece in your wardrobe. During my usual prowl of the internet on a regular Saturday morning I came across Wood Wood and I must say I am in awe of absolutely everything from their AW collection.

Wood Wood is a fashion and lifestyle brand founded and based in Copenhagen, Denmark and as soon as I read this my heart strings were pulling. After visiting the city last year I completely fell in love with everything and anything about the place from the fashion to the way of life, I was well and truly hooked. I'd quite like to think my base may be there one day... Anyhow I've selected my top picks from the current collection and I think you'll agree that there is some absolute beauties there.

Why not check out the rest of their collections here? Are you loving Scandinavian design too?

What A Girl Wants | October

 photo wishlistoct_zps8ee458c0.jpg
Wrap Skirt- Topshop £42
Buckle Shoes- Office £60
Backpack- M&S £29.50
Trousers- Whistles £275
Rings- H&M £3.99
Scarf- COS £49

Its that time of the month again when I show you the things my heart is painstakingly lusting for. This month I have gone for a lot of sensible pieces, rather unattainable dream boats. The Whistles trousers are the priciest things on my wish list this month and aren't too bad at £275 if you ask me.  Key things this month for me are the buckle shoe boots from Office, I saw these a few weeks ago and just cannot wait to get my hands on them! Knitwear is also working its way back into my wardrobe now Autumn has returned and this pretty pink number from &Other Stories hits the spot for both shape and colour.

Each piece brings something new to my wardrobe, however my favourite piece is the wrap skirt from Topshop. The colour is so beautiful and the finish on the satin fabric makes it great for both day and night. A versatile piece is something I'm looking at a lot more often recently and this fits the bill perfectly. With that in mind, the rest of the pieces are also quite simple, but perfect for the season. Thoughts on my Wish List? What are you looking for this month?

Winter Warmers Wish List

 photo aw13coatshtml_zps167cb644.jpg
1. Orange Oversized Coat- Topshop £175 / 2. Checked Coat- Zara £129 / 3. Green Slouchy Coat- Monki £50 /
4. Grey Tailored Coat- Stella McCartney £1940 / 5. Black Tailored Coat- Alexander Wang  £730 / 6. Curved Seam Wool Coat- COS £175 / 7. Oversized Check Coat- River Island £65 / 8. Hooded Wool Coat- COS £150

Autumn's here and so another Wish List presents itself. I'd like to think this time it's a little more sensible, directional, thought about etc I mean no-one should be cold, right?! Okay, so maybe every choice isn't and this is a little extravagant in places (See Stella McCartney No4) but a girl can dream whilst having her sensible shoes on. Correct?!

I'd say everything on here is pretty much my usual style, the only thing kind of out there (for me) is this orange beauty from Topshop (1). Oversized Lapels, Statement Colour and Slouchy, it's a win, win situation if you ask me.

My absolute favourite is the COS hooded wool Coat in maroon. This is quite different to the other coats I own and I'd be quite keen (determined) to get this in my wardrobe this season. Another one I'm hoping to buy is the Monki Long Coat in Khaki. This is just £50 and with that in mind I can't imagine this is very warm, it seems more of jacket to me. That's not a problem though, I definitely have room for jackets in my closet.

Winter's on it's way and I have my eyes on many pieces, let's just hope I get what I want, what I really really want. (sorry)

What A Girl Wants- September

Necklace- Topshop £17.50
Notebook- Smythson £110
Angora Knitted Jumper- Topshop £68
Leather Skirt- Zara £79.99

What a girl wants, what a girl needs was a hit for Christina and these beauties are on my hit list this month. Some are well out of reach, whereas some could be working their way into my wardrobe if I spend my money right this month. The winner on here for me has to be the Philip Lim Loafers, what I would do for those beauties, but at £470 they wont be making it into my wardrobe! So please please let me know if you spot anything similar on the high street. The Smythson notebook is beautifully finished with a leather sleeve, perfect for some notes on LFW, wouldn't you say? The necklace from Topshop and Skirt from Zara are unbelievable so I'll definitely be looking into gaining those this month. At the moment I'm feeling everything and anything related to mohair so this pastel blue cropped jumper is bloody perfect.

Are you lusting for anything this month?

What A Girl Wants- August

Sweatshirt- Topshop BoutiqueWrap Skirt- Rag and BoneRing- Monica VinaderTrainers- Saucony | Sandals-Topshop2 Piece- Choies

Its that time again, when the paycheck hits the bank and it immediately exits through some form of retail store. Once again I'm lusting over many things, probably only being able to afford a couple of them. Life's tough isn't it?!!

For this month's wish list it seems I've hit the west and gone for quite a lot of American Beauties, however fear not all are available online (links in post). Choies which I discovered only recently are pulling at my heart string with this punk inspired set, love, love love! Topshop have done it again in the form of these great chunky sandals and this Boutique Snake Skin Embossed Sweatshirt, which I must say is much more beautiful in real life! A brand I haven't personally found much before is Rag and Bone, however this wool wrap skirt is just what I want for autumn days. Perfect teamed with some black ankle boots and button down shirt. Saucony have my attention now. Once a shoes only girl, my trainers collection has grown rapidly in the last year. With Nike, New Balance & Addidas already in tow I'm hoping these rather lovely Saucony Jazz an join the crew. Finishing off with a fine piece of Silver by Monica Vinader and we have a completed Wish List.

Whatcha think of my picks?

Diamonds & Pearls

You probably think I've been doing a lot of wish list's and outfit posts recently, but it literally is because there is so much out there right now! But if I'm honest, my bank balance is not letting me buy s much s I'd quite like. Although one thing I've been buying into Costume Jewellery, at a rapid pace in recent months and I've found that for a small price you can grab a statement piece that can total transform a simple outfit.

Recently I've come across a few incredible places for Jewellery that I'd like to share. My first stop for some great pieces is the cute brand Little Birdie London. A relatively new brand, but offering some on trend pieces at great prices and even more the quality is much better than I've found at High street stores which have been around for years. This alone means that Little Birdie is a definite must when searching for the right piece.

The second is Dixi. An absolutely fantastic place for statement Rings and Necklaces. There specialty is precious stones and crystals, set in silver. This is right up my street and if you're looking for jewellery with a vintage feel you'll certainly get this at Dixi. With prices starting at £10, its a sure thing you'll find something within budget.

These kind of places mean that although I might not be buying new clothing, I'm certainly buying Accessories and with product like this on offer I needn't worry as I can refresh my look as often as I like. Perfect!

Is there any other great websites I should be looking at for Jewellery?

I'd love if you would follow me on bloglovin' here
